This is not a remote position. You must live in the Greater St Louis area.

The Cash Application Specialist plays a vital role in managing and reconciling payments for hail damage appraisal and repair services. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely application of customer payments while working closely with insurance providers, dealerships, repair facilities, and internal teams to maintain financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and apply customer payments from various sources, including insurance companies, dealerships, retail customers, and Payment types including:
  • Lockbox (U.S. & Canadian)
  • EFT/ACH/Wire’s
  • Credit Card
  • Cash Deposits
  • Remote Deposits (U.S. & Canadian)
  • Reconcile payments to hail damage estimates and repair invoices, ensuring accurate allocations.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and misapplied funds, working with insurance adjusters, customers, and internal teams.
  • Prepare Memos as required to complete application of checks and research of customer accounts
  • Maintain detailed records of all cash applications, including payment adjustments and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting and Accounts Receivable teams to support financial reporting and month-end closing activities.
  • Work closely with insurance partners and vendors to track outstanding balances and ensure timely resolution of payment-related issues.
  • Monthly/Quarterly Retail Insurance aging’s for payments
  • Complete month end duties in a timely manner as assigned
  • Research projects as assigned
  • Monthly filling duties
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency in cash application and reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry financial regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or finance-related roles (experience in the hail repair or insurance industry is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of insurance claim payments, deductibles, and repair invoicing.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with customers, insurance providers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage high-volume transactions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen
  • Sedentary position; minimal physical demand
  • Role involves sitting most of the workday with occasional walking and standing
  • Lifting is typically limited to light objects (up to 10 lbs.)
  • Office-based role with standard (possible tailored) business hours; overtime may be required during peak hail seasons.
  • Fast-paced environment requires high accuracy and attention to detail.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

The starting compensation is expected to be:

$18.00 - $22.00
